Report from St. Petersburg, Days 4 & 5

Mikhail Rubin has sent a report on the last 2 days of the TRIZ Developers Summit meeting, July 27-8 in St. Petersburg at the St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University. We appreciate his explanation of how the decisions are made about the award of the MA TRIZ diplomas. Our congratulations to B. M. Axerold and N. B. Feygenson, who were awarded diplomas 71 and 72, respectively, and our thanks to all the students and teachers and evaluators for their hard work. One more meeting of the MA TRIZ Dissertation Defending Council took place at Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University.

The following dissertations were defending:

  1. Axelrod, Boris Moiseyevich, Saint Petersburg. Thesis: "Action-Based Problem-Oriented Search (APOS): systematic application in innovation projects." Scientific Supervisor - TRIZ Master, S.S.Litvin. Opponent - TRIZ Master, Yu.I.Fedosov.
  2. Kashkarov, Alexander Germanovich, Saint Petersburg. Thesis: "Substance-Energy Transformations in Engineering Systems. Methodology for Constructing ES Models, for ES Model Analysis and Problem Statement." Scientific Supervisor - TRIZ Master, Yu.I.Fedosov. Opponent - TRIZ Master, V.M.Petrov.
  3. Feygenson, Naum Borisovich, working in South Korea at present time, Thesis: «Perfecting tools for analysis and synthesis of the 3rd evolution level technical systems». Scientific supervisor: TRIZ master Ivanov G.I. (his report was read as he did not come at the meeting). Opponent: TRIZ Master Kudryavtsev A.V.
  4. Bel'skii, Yuryi Vladimirovich, Australia. Thesis: «Systematization of the Su-field analysis and its application for non-technical systems». Scientific supervisor: TRIZ Master Lyubomirskiy A.L. Opponent: TRIZ Master Kynin A.T.
  5. Kurgi, Eduard Eynovich, working in South Korea at present time, Thesis: «Technical contradiction Analysis» Scientific supervisor: TRIZ Master Selyutskiy A.B. Opponent: TRIZ Master Gafitulin M.S.
  • MA TRIZ Dissertation Council members: Gafitulin M.S., Gubanov S.N., Kudryavtsev A.V., Kynin A.T., Litvin S.S.(Dissertation Council Chairman), Lyubomirskiy A.L., Petrov. V.M., Pinyaev A.M., Rubin. M.S.(academic secretary), Sibiryakov V.G., Fedosov YU.I., Yakovenko S.(for the first two defenses as he was to leave immediately), Selyutskiy A.B. (for the last three defenses)
  • Commission: Gafitulin M.S. (chairman of the meeting), Yakovenko S.(for the first two defenses), Kudryavtsev A.V., Sibiryakov V.G.
  • Orlova I.M. was appointed a secretary of the MA TRIZ Dissertation Council meeting drawing up the report.Each dissertation took one hour and 20 minutes. 10 minutes were defined for scientific supervisors, 30 were defined for applicants, 10 minutes for opponents, 15-20 minutes for discussion, 10 minutes for MA TRIZ Dissertation Council voting.
  • In the end it should be said that it was a public meeting. Nearly 30 delegates of different TRIZ organizations participated at this part of the summit.
  • It is necessary to have 75% of votes in order to receive the MA TRIZ Diploma. Taking the decision on approving of the applicants works was organized as a secret voting.
  • After defenses MA TRIZ Dissertation Council decided to give two MA TRIZ diplomas in year 2008:
    • MA TRIZ Diploma number 71 Axerold, B.M.
    • MA TRIZ Diploma number 72 Feygenson, N.B.

This day was defined for seminars. The first seminar was held by Kudryavtsev A.V. "Requisitions for certification works of the 3rd and the 4th levels. Finding inventive problems solutions. ARIZ and Technical systems trends".

15 specialists on TRIZ participated in it. The discussion was mostly dedicated to ARIZ method of inventive problems solving as it is one of the most important instruments of TRIZ.

The second seminar was held by Gerasimov O.M. "Introduction into the methodology of innovation projecting of "G3-ID"". 20 specialists on TRIZ participated in this seminar. All the participants were very interested in "G3-ID" methodology and desired to cooperate with "Algorithm". The participants suggested further organization of such seminars on TRIZ.
